Rome day 1

On our first day in Rome we visited a lot of sites, like the monument to the first king of Italy, that colosseum and some ancient ruins.

Zurich and Rome

We left or hotel at 7.00am so that we could catch the line 2 train to get to the very fast 300km/h train to get to the airport on time. The 300km/h took only 7minutes to get to the airport but still we just made it in time for check in.

Our airplane we delayed by 1 1/2 hours because of the heavy snow in Zurich. So there we more time to spend playing on the travelators, which gave me very black hands.

Zurich airport was very tidy and fancy with a massive chandler and clean fonts every where.

Then for Zurich we flew tiredly and sleeply to Rome

Last full day in Shanghai

On this last day we went to shanghai museum and a water town, which is just a traditional Chinese town located near a canal or river. The museum was filled with artefacts and stairs.

Water town

The water town that we visited was one hour out of shanghai and was very pretty but touristy. Water towns are apparently only found in the south of china and mainly the south west.

This water town was like a maze of different side street and alleys. We had a tour guide for the trip. She was nice but made us go down what seemed like all of the streets. We went into a temple and this old house that had this massive pretty garden which had just been restored.

Shanghai day 2

I woke up to find food for breakfast out. Mum had woken up early and got some pancake pizza things, dumplings and fruit. Then we started walking to people's square where the Museum of contemporary art was located.

In the park there was a marriage market where parents or grandparents tried to find a partners for them.

And some cool balloons

We also found a playground for children

We found a pretty pond.

Inside the museum there was a exhibition on Marimekko from finland.

We went to the urban planning centre on the edge of the sam park and saw a massive model of shanghai.

After that we caught the train to the old French concession, which seemed like a fancy part of town. We passed a bakery that sold "germ tea".

We caught a train home, tired and with sore feet from all the walking and had food from street venders for dinner.

Shanghai day 1

We arrived at shanghai airport at 7am. Then we took "the scenic route" in the taxi to our hotel. Then out we went in search of yummy dumplings and crepes or "craps" as the lady at reception said. We found a place called Yang's dumplings and talked with some Australians that were eating there.

We returned to our hotel and slept for 3 hours. After waking up from our sleep we walked along side the river called the bund. Then we returned to Yang's dumplings to have dinner and saw the Australians again.

We are Leaving

I am so glad my exams are over. My last one was economics. After my last exam I went to my friends house and then we had a party :) I will miss my friends and my house but I am excited to leave.

My friends Birthday party after my last exam

We are leaving for Auckland in about an hour. Then we are off to Shanghai. It feels unreal and like someone is playing a joke on me, but it is becoming more real with ever passing minute.
